Piggy Corner was started in the kitchen of the family home by Valerie Sloan over 10 years ago. The business initially was solely patchwork and quilted gifts made by Valerie and sold at numerous craft fairs throughout the year all over Northern Ireland. When things started to get busy and after a house move to the beautiful Ard’s Peninsula, Valerie moved into the attic giving her more room to expand her stock and her market by attending the big hobby craft shows selling fabric by the metre to fellow crafters.
Three years ago after much discussion and hard labour Piggy Corner finally got it’s own premises the old stables at the family home, although it does host a pool table in the corner for Valerie’s husband (his reward for rebuilding the old stables brick by brick) and Valerie finally got out of the attic. The building is now home to an extensive range of patchwork and quilting fabrics and supplies as well as gifts and quilts.
Valerie still attends many craft fairs and shows throughout the year and therefore does not have set opening hours instead if you would like to visit her studio please do call ahead and check we’re there, this also gives us the chance to make sure the kettles boiled fresh for you. Alternatively check out our events page or Facebook to see where we will be and come pay us a visit at one of our many shows throughout Northern Ireland.
